Piolets Jeunes :Great week-end in Chamonix and many interactions for the teens of the EA of St-Julien

With 160km/h winds on top of the Aiguille du Midi,
we had to modify our original plan which was to climb a mountain route. We chose to meet other teenagers  and groups while revising the basics. The weather strongly advised it!

Saturday, the team started to participate in the IMOVE activities (rope climb, rocky progression, friend placement,...). We then moved on to the ascension
of a beginners climbing route to adapt our skills.

Indeed, with its 470 meters and its 19 ropelenghts, the Caline route asks for a certain fluidity during the belay operations, even if it was an easy route, we didn't want to miss the snacks. The team and our surprise guest, the chilian guide-photographer Nacho (Ignacio) separated in 4 parties with three of them leaded by the teenagers. The team had a good taste at the surprisingly strong wind and the snowy descent of the Montenvers.

After the snack, we went to meet some teenagers we hadn't already seen (125 all together), before having a quick supper and going down to the Piolets Jeunes ceremony. It was for Nicolas the perfect oppurtunity to meet Catherine Destivelle and get her autograph.

Representing the event, she gave the college of Ferdinand Buisson (Isère) the « Piolet Jeunes College 2012 » award, and awarded the ITEP of Annecy for their ''Cîme en soi'' project and the community center of Prémol (and also the CAF) of Grenoble for accompanying teenager city girls in the mountains with the « Piolet Jeunes Association 2012 ». This evening allowed us to see some interesting projects, to be motivated, to get ideas! A great success! Thanks to th GHM for the perfect organisation.

windy evening with flying objects and a good nights sleep at the UCPA later ...
Sunday morning, we have a rainy sky but with a bit of patience, the sky lightens up. We then go to the Gaillands, where we go climbing with other teams.
A couple upturned trees didn't help us get out of Chamonix but we loved it!

Stay tuned to see the movie!
